Coral Olazagasti, MD

Coral Olazagasti, MD, is a medical oncologist and Assistant Professor at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami. She specializes in head and neck as well as thoracic malignancies. Dr. Olazagasti earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City, followed by a Hematology-Oncology fellowship at Northwell Health. Prior to her fellowship, she served as an academic hospitalist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

A dedicated advocate for early detection and lung cancer screening, Dr. Olazagasti is particularly focused on reducing disparities in cancer care among racial and ethnic minorities. As a Latina oncologist, she draws on personal and professional experiences to address barriers faced by underserved communities, with an emphasis on improving outcomes in the Hispanic population. Her research integrates her clinical focus and advocacy efforts to promote equitable cancer care.
